Guide 2 Spyware > Spyware Removal Spyware RemovalIf you detect spyware on your system, it is a good idea to remove it as soon as possible. Unfortunately most spyware programs don't have an uninstallation option - and some even take active steps to make it hard for you to remove them! Fortunately the spyware removal software packages can not only detect spyware, but the majority of them can also remove the spyware from your system and repair the damage that they may have caused. In the worst case, if your spyware removal software is unable to remove the spyware from your system, it should at least be able to identify the particular spyware so that you can do your own research on how to remove it. After you have completed the removal of spyware from your system, if your spyware removal software provides the option, you should then perform a full-scan of your system to make sure no traces are left, and no other spyware is on your system. Finally, if you believe that your passwords or personal data on your system may have been compromised (more likely if you were infected with spyware containing a Key Logger, but possible even if not), then you should take appropriate precautions. These precautions may include changing your passwords, alerting any financial insitutions concerned, paying particular attention to bank, credit and other financial statements, and any other measures that you feel appropriate to prevent identity theft crimes. |
